Bookkeeping & Accounting
Your business still needs proper accounting.
Transactions recorded. Reports produced. Compliance handled. But done in a way that actually reflects how your business runs.
Where accounting falls short
Processing numbers and understanding them are not the same thing.
When accounting is disconnected from how the business actually operates, numbers get reviewed after the fact, issues get picked up late, and decisions get made without the full picture. Accounting becomes a compliance exercise rather than something useful.
That's not what it's supposed to be. Your numbers should tell you something about what's happening in your business, not just confirm that everything was captured somewhere.
What we handle
The day-to-day work, done properly and kept up to date.
Capturing and processing transactions, keeping records current, making sure income and expenses are correctly recorded, maintaining your accounting system, preparing monthly figures and keeping your business compliant. That's the foundation.

How we work
Before we take anything over, we check how your accounting is set up.
This matters more than most people realise. If the chart of accounts isn't structured properly, if income and expenses aren't organised in a way that reflects how the business actually operates, everything that follows becomes harder to work with.
Reports don't make sense. Numbers don't line up the way they should. And you end up with figures that are technically correct but practically useless.
We review the setup first and adjust where needed. From there, we make sure the way transactions are handled stays consistent, errors and inconsistencies get picked up early, and your records stay clean.
From practice
I reviewed a business's supplier processing and found no consistent process in place. A supplier requiring advance payments had been processed incorrectly for some time.
Payments were going straight to courier fees instead of flowing through the supplier account properly, and invoices were being coded to the wrong VAT account.
On top of that, the business was running a separate spreadsheet to track the supplier balance instead of reconciling back to their accounting system. The result was R15,000 in VAT input claims that had never been submitted.
Nothing was picked up because there was no process designed to catch it. That's what a proper setup prevents.
What you end up with
Numbers you can actually use.
When something looks off, it's easier to spot. When decisions need to be made, you have the right information in front of you. You're not trying to work things out after the fact or question whether the figures are reliable.
Accounting becomes something you can rely on, not something you have to second-guess.
Clean records. Up-to-date figures. A clear view of what's actually going on.
